Your Ultimate Beach-Themed Baby Shower

Posted by LulyBoo Baby on

If you’re planning a baby shower this season, why not get out there and take advantage of the beautiful summer sun, and throw your shower at the beach? Here are five ideas to make your shower shine like the 4th of July.

Throwing a beach-themed baby shower can be an adorably creative way to shake up the same old baby shower, and give your guests and mother-to-be a shower they won’t soon forget. So as you get ready to head out to the beach, here are some spectacular ideas to make that baby shower even more special.

 Decorations

When planning your baby shower decorations, think tropical. Surround your beach space with Tiki torches, which add an island flair day or night. Wrapping grass-skirt material around tables and chairs, using a hot glue gun, will definitely add some tropical flavor to your party. Empty coconut shells make a perfect centerpiece for your tables, along with shells and mini-palm plants. For an added touch, consider pinning tropical flowers to hair clips, so guests can easily wear them in their hair.

 Food

This one’s easy, because there are so many delicious tropical recipes out there. Start off with some fresh tropical fruits, such as mango, pineapple and passion fruit, followed by some mini orange glazed pork hors d’oeuvres. For dessert, you can make a sandy beach cake simply by sprinkling on crushed vanilla wafers, on any glazed cake.

Music

You’re going to want some fun, beachy tunes to get your guests in a partying mood. Think surf rock, Reggae, the beach boys, or a more relaxed, Hawaiian luau soundtrack with steel drums. You can inquire from your friends before the shower, to send you their favorite beach music, and create a booming playlist.

Games & Gifts

Incorporating tropical accents into classic baby shower games is a great way to keep the beach theme going. Having a race to see who can diaper a coconut the fastest, is a fun and rollicking way to entertain your guests. Have your guests guess the size of the baby bump by stringing tropical flowers on a string, and wrapping it around the mother to be. And of course, if you run out of ideas, there’s always Limbo!

Throwing a beach-themed baby shower can be an exciting way to make your event truly memorable. So get out there, and get ready for fun, sun, and baby, Aloha!
